Your illustrative photos, insightful comments, and tests have been
invaluable to me. It also amazes me that you were simply able to examine
the hood and see its shortcomings without needing to experience them
directly. That was a great call.

Currently, the only remedy I've applied is to remove the hood.
Surprisingly, I've had no instances of flare since doing so, although I
expect that will not be the case when summer returns. I've considered
simply dulling the inner surface of the hood with sandpaper. If that
doesn't work, your flocked paper solution most certainly will.
