Ok, I did this because I wanted to have some medium format negatives myself.
I happen to have a 620 spool and did the respool trick.
Then I tried another easier method and had good luck.
The current 120 spool are plastic. If out look at them from the end,
you have a riased outer ring, indented ring then flat circle.
Take a pair of nail clipper, and clip away the outer ring, using the inner ring
as a guide more or less and BAMM, that should fit in your 620 spool slot!
A source for 620 metal spools? Look fo rold cameras that used them and you
may find
a spool in on spot, as they always took the last film ut to be developed and
then one that had the film would get moved to take-up spot when new film was
going to be put in. So most seem to always have 1 empty spool in them!
