PZ-1P & Pentax "M" Lenses ?

Hello. I have a couple of questions regarding the use of Pentax "M" lenses with my 
PZ-1P:

1) Can you set the aperture of M lenses with the camera, or do you have to use the 
aperture ring on the lens?

2) Does the spot metering mode work well with M lenses?
