Pat, I'd be surprised to find out you actually can take anything
  close to a picture of a concert with this type of camera. You lack
  a large aperture lens (at least 2.8), camera's meter will be easily
  fooled by stage lights, there's no control over the exposure time.
  In fact you have the same problem with any SLR and a consumer zoom.
    My only suggestion is load it with some 1600-3200 ASA, disable the
  flash (too weak anyway and most likely not allowed) and... good
  luck! Tell us how it worked... I'd love to be infirmed. :o/
