Go for the SMC Tak 105/2.8 or the SMC Tak 85/1.8 if your looking for
something in the portrait lens range. The 85/1.8 is somewhat pricey
($300 or so) but may well be the best screwmount lens of them all. The
105/2.8 usually goes for $140 or so. In longer lenses, the SMC Tak 300/4
is excellent and reasonably priced ($250 or so). The SMC Tak 200/4 is
quite nice for a somewhat slow 200, but is plentiful and inexpensive.
The SMC Tak 135/2.5 is available in two versions, the later one is
superb, the earlier one is very good. Both are priced at under $200 most
of the time. Among the wides, the SMC Tak 35/3.5 is very good and is
usually a tremendous bargain at $50 or less. The SMC Tak 35/2.0 is a
great walkaround lens because it's quite fast, but is more pricey at
$100 or slightly more. The SMC Tak 28/3.5 is an adequate performer and
bargain priced, ditto the 24/3.5. The Super Tak 17mm fisheye is a lot of
fun, if you like a distorted fisheye look, but is usually no bargain at
$300 or so. It's hard to find in the SMC version. If you hunt through
the used lens departments at your local camera stores, you might find
some real bargains. The prices I've cited above are what we generally
see on ebay
