Hello all.
I'm still hunting "A" or "P" PENTAX bodies for our "Beginning Photography"
classes, held in the evening for adults and neighborhood children at our
Northeast MAGNET Middle School.
The photography class is but one of a number of evening classes held at the
school, all subprograms are staffed by neighborhood volunteers.
I've been able to purchase five working models and 2 non-working bodies on
eBay. Our class varies from 8 to 12 in size.
*I note here that most other PENTAX bodies bring too high a price.
We (I) buy "A" and "P" bodies because they sell for a little less than
Program Plus or "M" bodies. They also offer the later ability to use "A"
lenses. That is a plus for students for when classes are over, we gift the
students with the cameras they learn on.
I mention the "A" (A3/300) and "P" bodies (all) because our photo-related
scholarship budget is only $1,591, which if spent on overly high priced
bodies won't leave much money for the purchase of a few manual flashes or
print paper.
The program is:
"Assisting Sustainable Community Development"
City of Wichita, Kansas
Ms. Maaskelah Chinyere-Jeng, Coordinator
Colvin Neighborhood Center
2820 S. Roosevelt
Wichita, Kansas 67210
316.688.9377
So, for a charitable deduction of an "A" or "P" body or functioning flash,
(and you value your possible donation accordingly), send boxes and other
gifts to Maaskelah c/o program at the Colvin Neighborhood Center address.
*The new photographers will thank you and we'll make sure their photos are
posted to the PUG**.
**They *will* qualify you know because they'll be shooting PENTAX gear!
I apologize for the shameless nature of my post. But all of us can provide
marvelous opportunities for children and young adults whenwe work with
programs like these.
Now, back to PDML.
