Where did you find this out? A reliable source?
It doesn't really matter much, since they are definitely designed and spec'd
by Pentax (otherwise Cosina would be selling it's own versions if they held
the design IP ownership and were allowing Pentax to just rebadge them).
They have Pentax coatings and Pentax firmware. Don't most companies farm
out some amount of production these days?
This information, if true, doesn't take away one bit from my appreciation of
both of my limited lenses. They wouldn't have landed at my doorstep with a
Pentax badge unless they met Pentax quality standards. The same can't
always be said for simple rebranded products, such as gasoline.
