It wouldn't surprise me if Cosina had a hand in the Limited lenses,
maybe as a supplier of components? It wouldn't surprise me to
find out that Tokina or Tamron supplied parts as well.
There is a Ford Motor Company auto glass plant near where I live (
In Tulsa, Oklahoma specifically ) and they naturally supply glass
for use in Ford automobiles, but they also supply glass to Toyota &
Honda for some of their automobiles as well as plate glass for non-
automotive use.
As much as I'm sure AOC would desire to manufacture all of the
Limited lenses' components in-house, they obviously will use
outside suppliers when it makes sense to do so.
We can speculate endlessly on this, since it's purely a business
matter and businesses are notoriously tight lipped ( Pentax in
particular ) we aren't likely to get anywhere.
