I have a 100mm Macro f/4.0 which has a problem. The problem looks like a
fungus on the front element, but three different repair shops said it is
not fungus. Pentax-Colorado did not say what the problem is, but they
say it is not repairable due to lack of parts. One local repair person,
who is much trusted with a strong reputation, said that the two lens
elements in the front group are just barely seperating and that that is
what is causing the faint hazy effect.

In any case, the concensus is that I need to replace the front group. A
trivial repair, I could do it myself in 5 minutes if I had the part.
Anybody out there know where I might find one? Anyone with a "trashed"
100mm f/4.0 which still has the front intact?
