Stan, I had similar thing: what I thought was either fungus or oil on the
lens turned out to be a mild separation of two cemented elements. The
repairman I send it to for general cleaning repaired even this! But if you
are *really* in a pitch, you could try to separate them completely and
recement them yourself. Rmonagha's site (www.smu.edu/~rmonagha/ ???) gives
AFAIK some info. AFAIK the 4/100mm is a simple Tessar formula, so it
shouldn't be too difficult to remove front element, no? But I suggest this
as a LAST resort. God knows what cement Pentax used for cementing
(certainly not Canadian balsam!), and you might even crack your lens group
if you do it by force. Or the chemical you might use to solutize the cement
might peel off the SMC ;)
Frantisek (trying to cope with lens repair by trying on old cheapio
enlarger lenses... Anyone wants to buy sixty three diaphragm leaves from
