I've finally figured how to get full 16-bit per color RGB scans (12-bit
actually) saved into TIF files from PhotoShop 5.0 LE using my S20 Scanner
and TWAIN32. There is a reg change for the S20, and a mode adjust check in
PhotoShop to make it work.

Now I'm getting a 50MB TIF files per image! So great, now I have an extra
4-bits of accuracy in each color channel, but PhotoShop 5.0 LE can't do a
thing to the image except save it to disk.

I quite happy to get raw scans that have a full 36-bits of usable
information, but would like to adjust them using 16-bits per channel.

What are good photo editors that support the equivalent of Photoshop's basic
filters of unsharp mask, auto levels, auto color, etc., but in a full
16-bits per color channel?

Thanks,
Gerald
