I'd like to repeat that the camera looks just like on all the
pictures we saw so far, so if Paal is correct with his rumour about
the delay because of the specification upgrade, it might happen
that the MZ-S presented at PMA might look a bit different. Let's wait
and see.

It was a rumor from japanese Pentax lists, posted here because the source has obvious
inside contacts and has proven reliable in the past. However, rumors are much like
myths and legends; they have a core of truth but get distorted when everyone add their
interpretation of them along the way.
I believe theres no reason to believe that the MZ-S is significantly changed or
delayed. Whats possibly delayed is the digital version (apparently there will be a 6
megapixel Minolta 7 soon which will compete head on with the Pentax) and/or the so
called "flagship". A possible source for this rumor is that somone have got the
message that the flagship is delayed (something we have known for a long time) and
this person believed that the MZ-S is the flagship.
Another reason for not believing in the delay of the MZ-S is the fact that for
approximately one year ago the rumors said (posted here) that the MZ-S (then labeled
MZ-1 or top model or whatever....) will be shown at PMA 2001 and possibly unofficially
shown at Photokina in September 2000. This is pretty much what happened.
However, I have no doubt that the source of this rumor had access to confidential
info. Something has been delayed and upgraded. Its just the interpretation of it that
turn out wrong. We also know (at least I do :-) ) that the flagship was delayed
BECAUSE of the MZ-S; also a possible source for confusion and mix-up between the two.
