Nope, I'm sure it has Hyper program and Hyper manual. When I held the
camera, I didn't try all the possibilities, but after some thoughts
in the last few days, I think it goes like this:

Default mode: programmed AE,

Shutter priority: when you turn the main dial, it switches to shutter
priority, starting with the program setting. If one presses the blue
button in front, the camera returns to program AE mode (this is more
or less Hyper-program, right?)

Aperture priority: like you said, when the user turns the aperture
ring from A setting to selected aperture,

Manual mode: when you turn main dial, the camera switches from
aperture priority to metered manual, starting with the shutter speed
that camera metered just before the main dial was rotated. Now you
are in metered manual mode. If you want to get the camera reading
again, you just press the blue button in front and there it is, the
correct reading. Actually, you are in AV mode again, but with the
first rotation of the main dail, you are again in metered manual,
staring with the last camera reading. (And this is Hyper manual,
right?)

Now, what happens when you want to stay in aperture priority but you
are afraid of the possibility that one will accidentally turn the
main dial ( and with it camera will enter manual mode)? This could
happen, and if you DON'T want it to happen, here comes the hold lever
in: you push hold lever to the right (and it stays there!). On LCD it
writes HOLD and the exposure is locked. Now - I think, I didn't check
it out on the camera itself - with the hold button you can lock the
Av mode so you can't accidentally enter manual mode by turning the
main dial. In other modes, hold lever might have different functions.
I didn't try out MZ-S enough to be sure about this idea but I think
this is the main reason for the hold lever. However, this explanation
of the purpose of the hold lever is purely my speculation. Let's wait
and see.

Anyway, Hyper operations are available. Actually, the whole control
layout of the MZ-S is developed on them. Please, correct me if I'm
wrong.

Well, to me the only thing missing on this camera is flash exposure
compensation. And too bad I was wrong about viewfinder coverage. :(
I was sure the coverage was bigger than in MZ-3. Apparently, that was
my wish only.
Ooohh, and please: make it in silver, too!!!!

Ciao, Matjaz
