I don't "object" and can't understand why you would sense I would. But my
statement qualified itself: I mentioned "Invidious" (Synonyms: LIBELOUS,
calumnious, defamatory, detracting, detractive, detractory, maligning,
scandalous, slanderous, vilifying) comparisons.
It seems however, that 35mm photographers who "critique" 35mm cameras, simply
dismiss PENTAX out of hand. How then would even a cherry PENTAX LX fair in
such a competition? We both know the answer.
You wouldn't expect PENTAX to shine even dully if being judged by a
Nikon-Canon-Leica crowd, or would you?
Perhaps you ~do~ believe others could be "fair" in their assessments of
PENTAX gear. I think otherwise, that they would be like wine critics who
dismiss lesser known (or liked) wines as "amusing."

Until all (or any of them) begin to manufacture the broad spectrum of optical
gear PENTAX makes, including scientific and military glass, astronomical and
Laser optics, I'll continue to be kind in ~my~ assessment of them.
