Perhaps not.  But I've read that Braveheart was a major factor in
building support
for home rule in Scotland.  If that's true, it has become a part of
history.

I also heard, by the way, that the big battle scene in Braveheart was
almost an
exact  replica of the great battle in the classic Russian movie Alesandr
Nevskii.
