Hello,

Back to photography i'd like to get a Pentax camera before Christmas.

So far i've used(and still own) a Nikon F (1,4/50 2,8/135) and for 2 years a Contax RTS-III (Zeiss 1,4/35 1,4/50) but it has been stolen...
I'd like to have an AF camera so that i could use a zoom painlessly (AF is for zooms isn't it ?) and avoid to carry heavy photo bags ( for e.g. RTS-III + 1,4/35 Zeiss = 2 kilos !). At first sight I didn't really care about the brand but i really like the idea of getting non-AF lenses (no lousy plastic as most AF lenses) working on the camera and vice-versa so Pentax will soon increase it's market share with me (and why not hunting for a nice 2nd hand LX...).
MZ-3 is my final choice and the first lens i shall buy will be a 50mm as you may have guessed but i still have several questions.

I mostly shoot B&W and Diapositives (ouch is that the english word for it : inversible films ? sorry i am french) so i need the spot mesure but will i get it ( and center-weighted) if i use non AF lenses ?
I am used to 100% viewfinders (like the Nikon F and RTS-III), most Pentax cameras get a 92% isn't that an issue (e.g. for diapositives)?

This summer i plan to journey by feet from the French Alps to Spannish Galicia with some friends and my idea was to get 2 zooms or maybe something like a 4/28-70 and a 200mm with a doubler (x1,4 x1,7 x2 i am not sure of what is available on the market) backed up with an Olympus Mju II; along with a flash a light tripod and some filters...

What would be your advice for a doubler to go with ? 200mm ? 300 mm? Pentax 80-200 if i don't take a doubler ?

And finally Metz flashes are quite cheap here in France compared to Pentax : any idea of what i will get/loose if i get a Metz flash ( AF assistance for example) ?

Thanks,

Jean-Baptiste

A french writer (Marcel PAGNOL) once said that the amount of courage one can find in men is exactly proportionnaly the opposite of the range of the weapon they use.
A roman citizen (PLAVTVS) once said : HOMO HOMINI LVPVS
I think they are both right, let's hope for a society full of brave people...
and like most europeans who had time to understand together what violence mean i really think that the alternative is not between the teeths of the beasts and the sword of the Leviathan..
