No Doug, but.. Once an image is in the digital domain the aberrations introduced in transformations are predictable and controllable i.e. they are a function of the algorithm used to facilitate the digital enlargement. No optical system like aberrations are introduced through digital scaling. Also most of the new scanners seem to incorporate some pretty advanced optics and they need to be to truly record resolutions of 4000dpi and above from film.
