Hi Takehiko,

I visited your site. Those are nice pictures.
However, they do not look at their best at your site. As you said, there is a problem
somewhere.
(I don't know anything about your film scanner, but I do know that your original negs
and slides can be made to look a whole lot better.)
There seems to be a general lack of contrast and apparent sharpness, almost as if the
pictures were covered by a film of plastic. Also, I have the impression that you may
have used too much jpeg compression - there are some artifacts visible, particularly
along diagonal borders. I am sure that there is a g r e a t difference between the
original negs and slides and their web representation.
Would you say that they look pretty much like this directly after scanning, before you
have done any manipulations? In that case the problem is with the scanner or the
scanning software.
Did you do any tweaking after you scanned the pictures? Maybe, in your image editor,
you could try to increase contrast (adjust the colors), add some sharpening effect.
And yes, make sure that you get rid of those white dust marks too...:)
I am no expert at all, but I can clearly see that there is a potential to make your
pictures look much better.
However, I guess you'd get the best advice from someone who has had some experience in
using the same (or other) film scanner and software, so let's hope that you get some
useful advice from someone else on the list.

Good luck,
Lasse
