I'm chiming in with
6x6 (even though it's not the "Medium Format Of Choice" by most around here
as far as I can tell) ;-)

I've used the 645N - nice camera, AF was cool - but I didn't like the fact
that I had to do all the twisting with that box in order to go from
Landscape to Portrait and back. I know, I know, it's not THAT big of a deal
but it was one of the things that sort of annoyed me.

I toyed with 6x7 but with Pentax, even though it's an AWESOME value for your
$$$ - which is something I would consider - I kept thinking about the non
MLU bodies, and then the older MLU bodies and I eventually started lusting
after 67II which is beyond my price range (specially since I have a small
arsenal of cameras as is). This and the fact that it wouldn't solve my "why
do I have to twist a camera this size" issue that I had with 645. If it was
6x7 - then I would rather consider the bulky Mamiya RZ system due to the
rotating backs.

So I settled with 6x6 - which I don't mind cropping post image if need be,
no rotation necessary, compose and fire, plus, for my camera, I can go out
and rent a number of lenses at a reasonable cost to allow me to not have to
spend ooodles of $$$ on more lenses - I guess in this case it's all a matter
of personal preference for the items I listed - If you don't mind rotating
your camera - 645 or 6x7 - if your budget allows it, 6x7 Pentax - even so
the original 645 can be had for a song - only issue with both is non
removable backs - but with only 16 shots/10 shots per roll this may not be a
big deal to some.

Cheers,
Dave

Subject: Medium Format-Which one is best?

I'm still on the hunt for a Medium Format setup. I
would like to hear suggestions from the group. Which
format is best-645, 67? What about 6x6 (I don't think
Pentax makes one, but they're probably the least
expensive to start with). But, in terms of Pentax,
which format do you prefer and why? Is one better
than the other?

I look forward to your responses & thanks again in advance!
