According to a test in Practical Photography (GB) November 2002 the Tamron is better 
wide open. And in a test in Practical Photography (GB) November 2000 the true focal 
length of the Sigma is only 95 mm - the 90 mm Tamron is 87.4 mm - and also in this 
test Tamron is a bit sharper. They both get the same rating 9/10, though.
In this earlier test Pentax 2.8/100 FA macro gets only 6/10 and according to the 
graphs it needs stopping down to f:8 to perform. Verdict: "look elsewhere".
I´m still happy with my Sigma.
