I wonder if the new FA 28-105 f/3.2-4.5 AL (IF) is meant to replace the old 28-105
f/4-5.6, while Pentax keeps the 28-105 f/4-5.6 (IF) Silver as a low cost alternative.
This would be quite logical, and may mean that the optical quality of the new 28-105
is far better than the, quite average, optical performance of the 28-105 (IF) Silver.
I would like to have the new 28-105, if it performs better than my current Tokina
28-105. I enjoy my Tokina, but it is a bit on the heavy side and I like the idea of a
more compact and light design which takes smaller filters - and I have some 58mm
filters "hanging around" (I had a Takumar A28-80 with 58mm).
Can we now expect a faster nn-300 lens? FA 90-320 f/3.5-4.5 (IF) ED would be nice...
Pentax has some budget lenses, and some very expensive ones - they lack middle-range
lenses. For us who wants something better than the 28-80 f/3.5-5.6 and 80-320
f/4.5-5.6.
What happened to the Tamron collaboration?
28-200, 28-105, 100-300 - then nothing. (btw, isn't the FA28-80 f/3.5-5.6 the same as
Tamron's 28-80 f/3.5-5.6?).
In the future I would like to see an upgraded MZ-3/MZ-5N with high-speed flash sync
and the 6-point AF from MZ-S. The new F80 and EOS 30 makes the market a thought one
for the middle-range MZ bodies.
Btw - Pentax Scandinavia says that they expect a summer release for the MZ-S, they
have "no idea" about the price.
