A great many of the old Volkswagen Beetles and Super Beetles
had magnesium engine blocks, didn't they?  Possible to set 
afire, but it usually took some work (though IIRC it did limit
the suitability of modifications to take some alternative
fuels).

Also, aren't some "sport" wheels on consmer cars made of magnesium 
or an alloy thereof?
