The 4.5/80-200 is just a bit bigger than the 4/200 - but the zoom is sharper. All the best! Raimo Personal photography homepage at http://www.uusikaupunki.fi/~raikorho

If you go with a prime, you can get a compact lens. The Pentax SMC-M 200/4 is an excellent lens, yet it's quite light and small. Ditto the SMC-M 100/2.8. And there is a lot of great glass in the earlier Pentax SMC series. The 85/1.8, the 135/2.5, the 200/4 (slightly larger than the M version), and the 300/4 come to mind. And all of the Pentax 50 millimeter lenses are quite excellent. My favorite is the SMC Pentax 50/1.4. Paul Stenquist > Kudzu wrote: > > > I just joined the group and one thing is for sure.
