Carlos..
I've got Vuescan and the Silverfast software -
Vuescan seems to be able to fine tune the scans a bit better than
Silverfast can.
Vuescan does take a wee bit longer to get things rolling with the scanner
but it's not a big deal.
I too have a dedicated Minolta 35mm film scanner (Scan Elite II) and it
seems to do just fine with Vuescan as well.
Silverfast does a decent job with most items, including my color MF negs
but it sometimes messes up the B&W negs by making them too "hot".

Cheers,
Dave

Thanks David. Mine came without Silverfast, it only has the original
Epson software, but Vuescan offers more possibilities than the Epson
Twain driver. I have used Vuescan with my Minolta scanner, and I am
starting to learn how to fine tune it to exploit the Epson 2450
features. So far, I have scanned some 6x6 and 6x7 slides and the results
are really nice, although I already knew that my computer will need more
RAM to manage the big TIFF files generated when scanning MF slides.
