I wasn't criticizing anybody! I was just responding as best I could. I think the point is valid...that often we want to think about things rather than try them out. This is something I have to remind myself of again and again and again as a reviewer: NEVER ASSUME. My tendency is to want to discuss things even if I haven't tried them, assuming I know what they're all about just from reading about them or seeing them at the camera store. I always have to catch myself. As a reviewer you just can't do that. It's a disservice to the reader. The ONLY things a reviewer really offers to the readers, if you think about it is a) the reviewer has actually used the product and the reader may not have, and b) the reviewer has used a lot more of the competing or similar products than the reader has. That's about it. Reviewers aren't smarter or better or anything else. Just a little more experienced in the very narrow range of the topic at hand. So the same thing goes for deciding which lenses to use or keep. You've just got to try 'em for a while and see how you feel about it then. I'm not trying to make light of the decision, believe me. --Mike
