I am having a rough time myself with an Epson 1200 + CFS using color inks. I understand it's because air is very hot in july and very dry during winter, ultimately resulting in ink drying around the seal where the printing head stays, thus letting a bit of air inside the ink and much trouble afterwards. For that reason I have not installed my newly acquired 1160 + black inks as I might travel a few months this summer and somebody has to "take care" of the printer, a little walk around the block every morning, etc. I understand you have to use your printer almost everyday to get it going fine. Mike, any friend of yours with advices for a newcomer? On a site or elsewhere...> Actually you can make your own. One example is the Epson 1160 (used)with four shades of grey instead of 3 colors + 1 black. You can get archival inks and use a CFS (Continuous Flow System) to lower the cost on the long run.Andre, Yeah, I have several friends who do that, including one buddy who has stockpiled old 1160s. It's very finicky and a total hassle. The inks clog constantly and the system requires a lot of maintenance to keep it running smoothly, from everything I've heard. --Mike
