Well, sort of. I know I've seen the word used to apply to aristocrats who don't have the cash to support their inherited baronial mansions in proper style. It means without sufficient wealth, without exactly meaning the same thing as "poor." A street person is poor. O.J. Simpson is impecunious. --Mike
