I'm in the middle of volume 3 of Simon Schama's "A History of Britain" and just read a long, fascinating section about Julia Margaret Cameron. (Quite a refreshing surprise considering Schama's focus otherwise is almost entirely on political history.) Has just 4 reproductions of her photographs, but I think that's more coverage than any other artist gets in the whole series. -- Mark Roberts Photography and writing www.robertstech.com
