Minnewaska Cupola " by Ann Sanfedele, What first caught my attention in this photo was the shadow of the hand. I clicked on it, rather than several others because my gut told me to. I can't do better than that, so, why do I think this one spoke to me? This picture works on just about every level that I know. It has no areas of boredom, there is something to look at everywhere. The shadow window is in perfect balance with the real window, and the shadow of the hand is almost a perfect balance for the chimney. The only thing I am unsure about is the amount of exposure thae bottom left recieved. For some reason, this picture made me think me of the famous picture of Dr. Albert Schweitzer by W. Eugene Smith. I think, if I had been holding the camera, I would have gone for a slightly lower camera position, and I would have had the model hold his/her hand just a bit lower.
