1.  Pentax will likely be the last player in the DSLR field.
They always have been slow, but have produced some of the nicest stuff.
(Nikon went bayonet in 1958-9, Pentax 1974?)
They'll milk film for all it's worth, long after the others have left.
There's BIG profit in maintaining older technologies.

2.  Pros want one thing:  More megapixels.  What they'd really like is a
convenient square sensor so to eliminate the 'Blad equipment both in
image medium and shooting style. The first to give them THAT will rule
the day-to-day pro wedding/studio shooter.  That's where the next big
bucks are coming.

3.  Amateurs want status symbols.  "Full-frame" is the main marketing word 
for the next year or two.  Canon's new unit will be in the Rebel body.
Really cheap.

What will Pentax do?  We'll not know until it's released.
The LX surprised everyone.
So will the next level of digital they release.
