Read what I wrote, again. I said attach. That's the mechanical interface. The information interface (meter) requires the prong (the aperture rings are still dimpled for where the screws have to go.

In a mechanical sense they do: you can directly attach a 2003 AF-S/D/G/VR Nikkor lens to a 1959 Nikon F without using an adapter, wrench, hammer, milling machine or hammer. You can't do that with a K mount lens and a Spotmatic.
