S-Mode I am assuming is spot metering. If so it is the Metering
Mode Switch is on the right side of the slanted control panel beside the
Select Dial and below the Drive Mode Switch. I do not recall seeing an
indication in the viewfinder, though there are only three positions for
this switch and one can readily check if it is in the topmost position (Spot
Mode).
