Not sure why that feels more natural than "10x8", but it does.
Something about the rythym of the sounds, I think (plus the
phrase, "Eight-by-ten colour glossy photographs with circles
and arrows and a paragraph on the back of each one describin'
what it was about," firmly lodged in my brain). "Ten by eight"
makes every bit as much sense; it's just not how it comes out
when I say it.
