Dear all,
We are talking about *ist as the counterpart of Nikon F75, Canon EOS300V (Kiss)and Minolta Dynax 5 (Alpha sweet). Therefore, it is a class above Nikon F55, Canon EOS66 and Minolta Dynax 4. I believe we will be seeing a strip-down version of *ist very soon to replace MZ-60, e.g. by replacing with plastic mount, 1/2000s shutter, old SAFOX AF and 6-zone metering. I think the little brother will look very similar to *ist. You mean any later camera will be above the *Ist? That would mean to me that Pentax is heading for the "pro" market...Or rather that you will get more for your bucks :-)Regards Sylwek
But how about a higher model for *ist? They need to add metallic body housing(perferably with weather seals at critical locations), bigger glass-prism viewfinder, 1/8000s shutter, PC-sync slot, data-imprinting, mirror-pre-fire and 4 fps film winding. It might still share the same chassis but I think the outer appearance will be quite different. Pentax already has all the above function parts in hand in the past cameras so I see no problem in having this higher model very soon.
Cheers!
