The previous DSLR from Pentax was available at Photokina 2 years
ago; some decent chaps handled it and raved about it and then Pentax
killed the camera. So I guess "under glass @ PMA" won't cut it.
Let's say available on order at b&h.

Just to avoid any misunderstanding: I don't intend to buy *this*
DSLR incarnation for various reasons - from price to full frame
coverage. I'm not starving for digital - it's just the next media
for me. My intention is to get a film body (MZ-S most likely)
the 360FTZ flash with accessories and one - maybe two primes. But
before I get the smallest new piece of K mount system, I need
firm proof from Pentax that I have an upgrade path to digital. This
can only be a K mount DSLR that one can actually buy it.

Pentax must accept the fact they may lose money with their first
DSLR just to keep alive the K mount and its users base (whatever
  that's left of it).
