BZZZZT Not if it's an international purchase. Many times, even with the international USPS money orders, there were/have been fraud alerts at banks and as such Canadian Banks wouldn't accept any USPS money orders. Even now, Canadian sellers have to specifically state that the US buyers should pay in the USPS International (pink in color) money order and not the Local/National (green in color) money orders which clearly state "Cashable ONLY in the U.S.A. and its territories". We're close.. but Canada is not a state of the union just yet ;-)
For international purchases, BidPay seems to work well as everyone, for one reason or another, seems to deem that Western Union Money Orders are on the "up and up". Go figure. That not only protects me but the consumer as well. Most MO companys charge a 20-25 dollar fee to trace the MO should it get lost. The Post office does not charge for this. Recently I received a MO for a lens I had on auction that had been mutilated by the PO sorting machines. Since it was a postal MO, they cashed it without question. Another nice thing about accepting them is when I cash it I also ship out the item and pay for the shpping out of the MO. It works for me very well. Of course, YMMV... :-) -- Later, Gary
