I wish this were true. Through some misguided policy of "friendliness"
or "putting the customer at ease" or something, every 22-year-old
store clerk or bank teller seems to think it's OK to first-name
a stranger. I find myself wanting to ask, "Hey, I'm almost old enough 
to be your grandfather. When do I get to be 'Mr. Moore'?"
