I noticed the problem was always in the center of the neg and
based on what everyone said I figured the neg was too close to
the glass in the middle, hence sagging.

What I tried was placing 4 quarters under the corners of the
film holder to hold the neg slightly higher during scanning.
PROBLEM SOLVED!!!

PS The scan is just as sharp as before, for some reason
the scanner has considerable DOF so raising the neg
slightly didnt throw it out of focus. Thank God.
Now I can get back to my Hi-Res 4X5 adventures...

BTW, I forgot to mention before, my 4X5 greyscale neg
scans at 2400ppi are over 90Mpixels! I dont think
the "35mm" digital SLRs are gonna get that big for a while....
