I'm a newbie to the list. Why? - the ist-D of course. All my life I've shot P&S, including my Sony digital camera that does a decent job. I've been thinking DSLR for a while now, but just can't really afford $2000, plus lenses, etc... Maybe I could, but I can't justify it. So I'm not married to any brand, lense mount etc..
The news about the Pentax ist-D is great to me. Depending on the final street price, it will likely be one of my options. The new Canon appeals to me if the $1599 street price is accurate, but again I have no lenses, so it will be major investment once I start adding on those Canon lenses. However, if I can get the Pentax, even for the same price point, with their cheaper lenses, I'd really have to give the Pentax a hard look. So to all you wonderers, worriers, prognosticators (I've been reading the archives). - an actual potential customer (not currently a Pentax user) speaks up. By the way, I never gave the Pentax P&Ss a second look in any media (film or digital). Greg __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo!
