I was thinking about an "independent" repairman more in terms of someone who was "answerable," who owned the store, who would be willing to talk to me about the problem-- instead of an employee who is insulated from direct contact with customers, is several layers removed from "direct access" and accountability... I don't know, I just think I'd feel more secure talking to the repairman.
