Nah, that's just data collection. Knowing how to _use_ the
info to spot meaningful trends that can show me better ways
to shop for film, _that_ would be "statistical acumen".
When I first started keeping notes, I decided to just track
everything I _might_ want to be able to look up sometime in
the future, figuring that I could always throw away any
information that turned out to be useless more easily than
I could re-create information that I hadn't tracked. And
inertia has kept me filling in all those columns when I buy
or shoot film (or send it to the lab) even as inertia has
kept me from getting around to figuring out what sorts of
statistical analyses I can do (either useful or playful).
But the big positive side effect is that keeping lots of
records makes other people think I'm far more organized
than I really am! :-)
