Having more sensors, and selectable sensors, means less need to lock focus
and recompose.  When shooting verticals with the MZ-5n, I found it would
sometimes focus on the nearest part of the subject, such as the elbow.

With the MZ-S, however, it's easy to select the second sensor from the
right, which conveniently lines up with the subject's eye. The result is
that you can work faster, with less fiddling around.  That's just one
example.  The main thing is being able to see which sensor the camera is
using before you shoot.
