Weird. My Neopan negs have always appeared to be very sharp to my eye.
High sharpness, higher grain compared to tri-x.
I haven't shot any in a while, and my lab was using TMAX developer. They
may have been overdeveloped a bit, which could account for the apparent
sharpness, I guess.
