Hi,
Strange in SA it seems to work the same way. Most higher end photo dealers
sell a lot of lower end Pentax, but push Nikon & Canon very hard once you go
over $600. But when you ask them what cameras they use themselves its
invariably Pentax. Asked why, very good value for money. Asked why they
pushing N/C, better commission from the distributors and lots of other
incentives. Pentax locally works on a sliding scale according to volume.
Canon will make a deal with anyone. I think it all comes down to money, if I
was making X amount on a MZS and X+Y on D100 which one would I push more?
Maybe $1400 is a good price for a Pentax DSLR but if Pentax dosn't offer a
better incentive to the dealers then the bottom line is going to dictate
which one gets sold.

My 2 bits
