"Showing someone up" in the manner used here is a method of demeaning someone for, perhaps supposed intellectual inferiority or other failings. What is the purpose of being sarcastic? Did you think it was humorous? Did you think it would help sell your point as being obviously correct - as though sarcasm was an argument in itself?
Specifications of existing products cannot be copyrighted. An automobile company cannot copyright the fact that their car is green. Anyone can see this and report the truth anywhere for any reason. They cannot copyright the fact that their car has 2000 cubic centimeters displacement. Anyone can measure this and report the truth anywhere. In fact, they cannot even stop their competitors from reporting this fact as a flaw compared to the competitors' red car with 2500 cubic centimeters. Etc., etc. etc. The Asahi Optical Company cannot copyright truth, only the manner in which they present it. Boz does not need Asahi Optical Company permission to report the specifications (truth) about their product. We would not be having this discussion if it were not a direct copy from Boz's site of Boz's intellectual property (the industrial art of his presentation of facts about the MZ/ZX-50). See the following link to Boz's site: http://www.bdimitrov.de/kmp/bodies/MZ-ZX/mzzx50.html I'm not attempting to be offensive here, but I am curious. Does your reaction result from a cultural difference of some sort? Which of my examples (which you omitted from your response) did you not understand or agree with? I don't, as a rule, hold private discussions with list members. It has become too abusive in the past.
