I agree with Jostein that both are nice pictures and which is "better" is entirely up to the viewer. I don't think the crop benefits the picture as much as I expected. BTW what kind of film did you use? It isolates the subject and makes the background easier to deal with, although it does present the challenge of preserving sharp focus where you want it. I can't live without DOF preview.
