A friend of mine says this sort of complaint shows up all the time on the
digital list he is on. Apparently, if you view the image either resized to
fit a computer screen, or as a picture at a reasonable print size (~300 dpi)
those artifacts become invisible to the eye.
Try downloading one of the images and printing it and see what happens.
