I've been tempted to do this, but worry that the temperature variations in
the car would ruin the camera. Anyhow, I'd like to keep an ME Super, a
50mm (either an f2 or f1.7) and perhaps a small flash (I have the smallest,
cheapest Achiever autoflash here already) in the car at all times. I
figure that if stolen, this won't cause too much anguish, and it should be
a generally capable setup for what ever comes up.

Where I live the temperatures range from 0 F in the winter to 100 F in the
summer (those are the extremes - every temp in between is ultimately
hit.) There is often a 30 degree F variance from day to night, and in the
summer the relative humidity is often very high (80 to 90 percent).

I'm thinking about keeping the setup and a roll of film (probably ISO 400
print film) in an insulated lunch box - on the theory that it won't be
something someone is likely to steal. (I may try a diaper bag instead.)

Any one else keep a camera in the car at all times? I is this a recipe to
destroy the camera and lens, or can they withstand the strains of
temperature and humidity variations? Any suggestions for a better way to
store the gear for this?

TIA -
