You might be better off buying the smallest, most capable P&S you can, even
if it is aps, and just keep it loaded with good fast film and in your
pocket. Ambient temperatures of 100 are likely to give you temps of over
145 in a car parked in the sun. Not good for your film or your batteries.
Plus, taking the camera with you will assure you that your batteries will
never freeze, and you'll also becovered not only in the car, but the places
the car takes you to and from.
