I have the ACER Prisa 620ST and ACER Scanwit2720S, the first one is a flatbed with transparency unit, and the second is a 35mm film scanner, both connected on a SCSI card. I run WindowsXP and SuSE 8.1 on the same hardware, use the manufacturer drivers under WinXP as well as Vuescan, and on Linux I have full support using Vuescan, and flatbed reflective only support using XSANE. Take a look at http://www.xsane.org/ to see if your scanner is supported, ACER is known for not supporrting Linux. Yours might be supported by XSANE, else you could use Vuescan. Under Linux I have the impression it works faster, but I still need to do some actual verification of that. -- Frits Wthrich Pentaxianado
